NAEP 2024-2025: Long-Trend Assessment
• NAEP administered the long-term trend assessments which measure
student performance in mathematics and reading, and allow the
performance of today’s students to be compared with students since
the early 1970’s.
• Results will be released for the nation.
NAEP 2025-2026: Operational Assessments
• Grades 4 and 8- Math and Reading will be assessed.
➢A new framework has been developed for NAEP 2026 in both math and reading. Training will be provided in the fall.
➢A total of 175 schools in Alabama will be selected to participate. Selected districts will be notified by July 17, 2025.
➢The assessment window is January 26, 2026- March 7, 2026.
➢Results from the assessments will be released as the Nation’s Report Card.
• Grade 8- Civics and U.S. History
➢A total of 7 schools in Alabama were selected to participate.
➢Results will be released for the nation.
