RKO (Culver City) Stages
The RKO soundstages on Washington Boulevard in Culver City, now part of
the Culver Studios, are identified with the same numbers today as in 1940. Here
are the soundstages used for Citizen Kane:

Paramount Stages
In 1967, the main RKO lot at Melrose Avenue and Gower Street in Hollywood—
then part of the Desilu Productions organization owned by Lucille Ball— was
purchased by Gulf & Western, at the time the parent company of Paramount
Pictures. The two production facilities were merged under the Paramount banner,
and the RKO soundstages were renumbered.
If you visit Paramount Pictures today and want to see the soundstages where
Citizen Kane was filmed, here is how the old RKO stage numbers used in this
book match up to the new ones:
