situation has its own coordinates that are essential to proper communication, which makes
it – and we come full circle to – situated communication. This applies even more to
interpretation which is at once mediated and situated communication. The pragmatic
approach to interpretation, which regards the message as a multi-layered unit and situates
it in a context, thus appears to lend itself as a rigorous way of underpinning human
communication in its most common-sensical, empirical manifestation.
