Brian Hill, XD Professor, Marriott
School Of Business, BYU, with Ida
Benedetto, Camilla Hodge, & Mat
Duerden
Experience design professor Brian has
handpicked a group of researchers to
share their findings in lightning-fast
presentations. They’ll skip the (important
but boring) details and focus instead on
the key takeaways for experience
designers. Plus, hear the first outcomes of
Brian’s conversations with legendary
transformation / experience designer Ida
Benedetto. When science meets art - we
can’t wait to hear this.
Introducing a brand new concept -
experience intelligence (XQ) - and a
new framework for experience
design (XD). Mat will share the 4
pillars of XQ + tools and strategies
that leverage XQ to create
transformational experiences and
help the people you design for thrive.

The State Of The

James Wallman, CEO,
The World Experience
Organization, and guests
The Summit will open with a brief, dynamic
overview of the Experience Economy today,
with highlights / insights from 8 months’ work
on a report by the WXO team and our
members. Presented by the WXO’s Founder,
futurist and author, James Wallman.
A philosopher-provocateur in the style of
Socrates or Osho, Venezuelan-born New
Yorker Enrique is – in his own words – a
rumour whose work explores the
magical value of language, birdsong,
dreams, and the Tarot de Marseilles. He
is the author of Tarology, En Terex It &
Ex Itent Er, and Linguistick, and his ideas
are the central theme of the feature film
Tarology, the Poetics of Tarot. He
believes we should pay attention more –
and we agree. In partnership with
Google Xi.

Artist, Moonlight Collective
Discover how Heuser carefully balanced art
and business to create a new shared
experience, BLINK festival, that brought light
to Cincinnati and helped redefine the identity
of a region, generating $126 million of
economic impact in the hospitality, retail, and
regional government/tourism sectors.
The ERY Method: 3 Simple Letters To Kickstart Creativity
Kevin Dulle, experience design guide
A key collaborator of Joe Pine’s, Kevin’s ERY Method is deceptively simple, but incredibly
effective. Originally designed to transform services into experiences, learn a great way to skip past
the blank page and open the doors to experiential creativity in this very fun workshop.
A workshop to explore how
LiveOps, a key technique from the
world of billion-dollar online games,
can be applied to immersive
experiences, led by a leading expert
from the scene. Learn the key
techniques and how you can apply
them to your own projects.

What’s Your X-Stack?
Maria Redin, COO, & Lou
Pizante, CEO, Non Plus
Ultra Morrison’s incendiary take on story shapes will
help us all move beyond the over-used and
now formulaic-feeling Hero’s Journey — and
consider new story structures that are more
relevant for today and tomorrow’s media, and
even have the potential to change the world.
That might sound like ridiculous over-reach.
But it isn’t: stories inform every person’s view
of the world. If we change the internal
narrative people have, we can make better
societies and, perhaps, even prevent wars.
Similar to a tech stack, or perhaps a
Business Model Canvas, the X-Stack
is a new conceptual framework to
help creators and operators increase
their experience’s chances of
success, raise money and generate
revenue. In this participatory
workshop, you’ll use the 5 layers of
the X-Stack to map out your
experience. Pizante is a pioneer in
LBE, immersive experiences,
investing & real estate. Redin is ex-
IDEO, Two Bit Circus, MIT &
Wharton Business School.

Any creative who wants to commercialise their
work needs to understand dealmaking. What
better way to learn this than through a dance
workshop led by one of LA’s leading
immersive IP lawyers?
A mini hackathon run by one of the pioneers of immersive experiences, in which we’ll apply the
tools of experience design to address climate change. If you’d like to prep beforehand, Abe’s
brilliant book Experience Design was recently published by Yale University.
Our relationship with the more-
than-human world — plants, other
animals, ecosystems — is the
backbone of experience design.
This mesmerizing audio-visual
experience has been co-created by
a multi-disciplinary collective that
travelled the Kalahari, on foot, to
cultivate & explore this deep truth.

A fortune teller reading someone’s cards is a
great example of immersive storytelling. The
narrative is co-created by the fortune teller,
the person whose fortune is being read and
the luck of the cards. In this workshop, we’ll
use tarot cards and fortune-telling as a jumping
off point to co-creating immersive, interactive
and emotionally resonating stories.
In an age where immersive
experiences are reshaping our
engagement with spaces, this un-

multiple perspectives on possible

WXO Campfire: An Empire State
Of Mind
Hosted by James Wallman, Olivia
Squire & Fabien Vlems, CEO, Head
of Content & Head of Ops, The
World Experience Organization
Life, Death & Sound Healing
Steve Boyle, Founder, Epic Immersive; Andrew Hoepfner, Founder, House
Immersive; Taran Gong, Conscious Immersive Wellness Curator
An experience of death, life, and collective connection, from the creators of pioneering works like
the Immersive World Adventure and Bottom Of The Ocean.
We’ll analyse the good and the bad of what
you saw in Thursday’s Experience Safari – and
which techniques you might use in your own
work – in a live Campfire. We've run more
than 200 of our online WXO Campfires since
2021. They’re ideal IRL: a great way to
connect, learn and share with like-minded
experience professionals.

Watch out for the
next iteration of the
programme...
In an emerging sector like experience design, we believe more in emerging
practice than best practice (that’s for already established industries).
And we know from building a thriving community of 650+ members in 38
countries there’s a lot of surprising innovation and creativity across the experience
ecosystem.
So while we’ve tried to represent as many sectors, ideas and people as possible in
our programme, we want to make sure everyone who attends has a platform to
share their ideas.
Enter the Unconference: casual, collaborative, and creative conversations where
everyone is an active participant.
There are no keynotes: everyone has a say.
There is no audience: everyone has a part to play.
And there are no set themes: you decide what you want to talk about and hear.
Unconference sessions are on Thursday and Friday morning. All attendees will
have the chance to sign up via the Unconference board on the day before. Slots
are first-come, first-served, so be quick!
These sessions are low-tech, high-impact. Ideal for connections and
conversations, and sparking new collaborations and ideas.

For last year’s London Experience Safari, we sent groups of experience experts
to 16 different experiences.
The New York Experience Safari on Thursday, June 13 will include a
handpicked selection of the city’s most exciting experiences to explore with
your new experience friends.
These group visits will be exclusive for attendees of the World Experience
Summit, will be strictly limited in number, and will be sold as an add-on
beforehand so you can guarantee you’ll be going to an experience you’re
interested in. Some will even feature backstage tours.
On the morning of Friday June 14, we’ll analyse the good and the bad of what
you saw and which techniques you might use in your own work in a live
Campfire. We've run more than 200 of our online WXO Campfires since 2021.

The Summit Scholarship 2024
Because a community only really works if everyone who’s in the community is
invited and able to come, we are offering a limited number of scholarships for
those who want to attend the World Experience Summit, but can’t afford the
full cost. (Not all who apply can come. We were significantly oversubscribed
last year.)
Find out more and apply here.
Local Lunch
Our venue is located in bustling Bushwick, home to many (very good) food
trucks and independent eateries. So to support the local economy, on Friday
we’ll provide a local map and encourage attendees to head out for lunch with
their new experience colleagues.
