Step Up For Students Scholarships
Step Up for Students is a nonprofit organization
that administers scholarships for
schoolchildren. Their scholarships include:
The Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program (FTC) for

therealexcitementisabouttobegin.Whattranspiresnextwilldefine
andchallengethecharacters'ideasofloyaltyandfamilythroughout
thenovel.
Thepointofviewswitchesbetweenchapters.Thechapternames
indicatewhichcharacterisnarrangforthatbriefmoment.This
wringstyleaddstothestory,givinginsightintocharacters'thoughts
andallowingfortheirdevelopment.Thefullstoryunfoldsthrougha
varietyofvoicesandcreatessuspenseandplottwiststhatwouldnot
bepossiblethroughasingleomnipotentnarrator.
Thestorylinefollowsage‐oldtropesoenfoundinmanyepictales
suchasloveunrequitedduetoprescribedhierarchicalclassrolesand
thechannelingofsupernaturalforces.Themaincharacterssurvive
relavelyunscathedfromperilouscircumstancesandunlikelyodds
withpreternaturalskill.Ifonesuspendsdisbeliefintheprotagonists'
goodluck,ShadowCallfeaturesanacon‐filledstoryfilledwith
intriguethatleavesreadersancipangthenextinstallment.

familiarinrecentyears.
Thereisashoongatahighschool.Threeboys
commiedthiscrime,killingfourstudentsand
injuringseveral.Thepoliceshotoneofthe
shooters.DualprotagonistsSkyeandJesseintermientlytellthestory.
Beforetheshoong,theywerefriends,orjuststarngtobecome
morethanfriends.Therelaonshipchangesaertheshoongwhen
theyfindoutthatJesse'sbrotherisoneofthevicmsandSkye's
brotherwasthegunmanshotbythecops.Skyeleavestownwithher
motherbutisforcedtocomebackaerthreeyearsandaendahigh
schoolwheretherearefriends,relavesandfellowstudentsofthe
vicms.
AlthoughSkyedidnotexpectaneasyhomecoming,strangeand
dangerousthingsstarthappeningtoherandJesse;thingsthatcannot
bechuckedmerelytoSkye'sstatusof"guiltybyassociaon"withthe
shooter.SkyeandJessedivedeepintotheinvesgaonofthepast
andthepresenttouncoverthetruth.Thisisanexcingnovelthat
keepsyouguessing"whodunit"unltheveryend.Ages13andup.

andforthfrommonthtomonth,andthetruthisarullyrevealedto
thereader.Someofthelanguage,violenceandscenariosareonly
