The Advent Season is a four-week period before Christmas that
celebrates the anticipation and coming of Jesus Christ, the
Messiah, to our world. During Advent we prepare to celebrate his
birth at Christmas, await his Second Coming, and recognize his
presence everyday as we live in discipleship.
Come to this hands-on workshop for catechists who minister to
children of elementary age. You will receive creative resources to
help the children and their families prepare to celebrate a Jesus-
centered Christmas.

El tiempo de Adviento es un período de cuatro semanas antes de la
Navidad en las que celebramos con anticipación la venida de Jesucristo,
el Mesías, a nuestro mundo. Durante el Adviento nos preparamos para
celebrar su nacimiento el día de Navidad, anticipar su Segunda Venida, y
reconocer su presencia en nuestro camino de discipulado.
Este es un taller práctico para catequistas que hacen ministerio con
niños y niñas de la edad primaria. Aquí aprenderás ideas creativas para
ayudar a que toda la familia celebre junta una Navidad centrada en Jesús.

From Sinai to Bethlehem playlist features two Scripture friends, one
Jewish one Catholic, together awed by the mystery of God's love
for us. These are not debates about our differences. Rather, the

Catechist Certification
One Mission One Faith: A basic catholic teaching and ministry
formation process founded under the pillars of missionary
discipleship and accompaniment. This is Phase I of III for
Catechist Certification, and it is also offered as ongoing
formation for anyone who serves in the life of the Church.
Vision and Skills for Faith Formation: A catechists and ministry
leaders training on knowledge and skills to revive their faith
formation processes. VSFF continues the accompaniment,
discipleship, catechumenate, and adults at the center models
from OMOF and the Directory for Catechesis. This is Phase II of III
for catechist certification.
Practicum Phase: After taking both OMOF and VSFF catechist will
have the opportunity to observe 2 certified catechists and be
evaluated by one approved catechist to complete the
certification process.
Advanced Ministry Studies
For those who would like to form themselves under the pillars of
theological foundation, evangelizing catechesis, pastoral ministry
applications, pedagogy and methodology and the Art of
Accompaniment.
This program will provide participants with the opportunity to
be formed to exercise different roles at parish or archdiocesan
level. Upon completion of classes and process of discernment,
ministers will be commissioned and certified with one of the
following certifications in collaboration with the California
Catholic Conference of Bishops and the Archdiocese of Los
Angeles.

Certificación de catequista
Una Misión Una Fe: Un proceso básico de enseñanza católica y
formación ministerial fundado bajo los pilares del discípulado
misionero y el acompañamiento. Esta es la primera de tres
fases para la Certificación de Catequista, y también se ofrece
como formación continua para cualquier persona que sirva en
la vida de la Iglesia.
Visión y Habilidades para la Formación en la Fe: Una formación
para catequistas y líderes ministeriales sobre conocimientos y
habilidades para reavivar sus procesos de formación en la fe.
VHFF continua los modelos de acompañamiento y discipulado
estimulados en UNA MISION UNA FE y recomendados en el
Directorio. Esta es la segunda fase para la certificación de
catequista.
Fase Práctica: Después de tomar ambos UMUF y VHFF el
catequista tendrá la oportunidad de observar a 2 catequistas
certificados y ser evaluado por un catequista aprobado para
completar el proceso de certificación.
Estudios Ministeriales Avanzados
Para quienes deseen prepararse con una formación formal con
énfasis en aplicaciones catequéticas, pastorales y eclesiales.
Este programa brindará a los participantes la oportunidad de
formarse para ejercer diferentes roles a nivel parroquial o
arquidiocesano.
Al completar las clases y un proceso de discernimiento, los
ministros serán comisionados y certificados con una de las
siguientes certificaciones en colaboración con la Conferencia
Católica de Obispos y la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles:

New Pastoral Framework for Ministries with Youth and
Young Adults
In June 2024, the Catholic bishops of the United States approved a
National Pastoral Framework for Ministries with Youth and Young
Adults entitled "Listen, Teach, Send." This text serves as the United
States' response to Pope Francis' apostolic exhortation on young
people, Christus Vivit. It is also a summons to local Catholic
communities to renew and revitalize their approach to the
accompaniment and evangelization of youth (in junior high and high
school) and young adults (in college and in their 20s and 30s).
