Going into my 32nd year in business, I have seen a lot of change.
Probably the biggest shift has been online shopping which has grown
exponentially in the last decade. I’m not a huge fan of it because I
prefer the face-to-face interaction of getting to know my customers
and buying with them in mind when I go to market.
Another big shift is the way that most of our vendors now compete
against us. They have online stores as well as free-standing brick-and-
mortar stores. Independent retail has never been an easy business, but
now there are many added challenges, so you have to be very creative
and always do your best to go the extra mile with the service you
provide.
We have added and reintroduced some services at DressCode Style.
One is Retail Rescue, a delivery and pick-up option for shopping where
we bring a selection of items to you and then pick up what doesn’t
work. Also, our shopping by appointment is really taking off. You scan
a QR code and make a personalized time that works best for you. Our
closet edits are still going strong and nothing feels better than a good
closet purge, shopping in your closet, and then getting a targeted
shopping list. These are just 3 of our top services!

Nic + Zoe: Mindfully Made Initiative: Sources cotton from the largest cotton sustainability program
ensuring sustainable practices and equitable treatment of growers
Marc Cain: Rethink Together: “Rethink Together awarded products are particularly environmentally
friendly in addition to our cross-product sustainability activities (e.g. our social requirements), from
materials to equipment. The corresponding marking takes the form of a hangtag on the article and a
sewn-in wove”
Marella: MONOCHROME Collection: Utilizes fabrics that contain reclaimed polyester or polyamide
