great programs and events happening at the
library in 2014. Here’s a few of the things we’re
working on for you…
Finessing Your Finances
A financial series begins in February including
programs with area experts who will address
topics from organizing your finances to estate
and other financial planning situations. Details
will be announced soon.
Free Tax Aid
AARP volunteers return to select libraries in 2014
offering free tax help from February through
April. Give us a call or check our website to learn

Hope in Hard Times
From April through June, we will host Hope in
Hard Times, an exhibit exploring the adversity
and triumph of everyday Americans, comparing
the struggles of the 1930s with those faced today.
The exhibit was curated by the Washington State
Historical Society and is sponsored by Humanities
Washington. As libraries have always offered
hope in hard times, we are adding many local
programs to this collaboration.
Let There Be Legos
All ages are invited as our traveling Lego Build
Day stops at each Spokane County Library
during 2014. Drop in for an hour or all day and
create to your heart’s content with thousands
of Legos for your building pleasure. Check our
website to find out when the event comes to
your library or attend them all!
Hoopla
We are excited to share a new online resource
with you: it’s called Hoopla, and it allows you
to stream music, movies, and TV shows for free
with your library card, either in the library or
anywhere you have an Internet connection!
