B. Residential Appeals
1. All appeal items that strictly involve physically measurable or quantifiable $500.00

2. All appeal items that involve the use or activity on a property regarding the primary $1,000.00
use, accessory use, Special Exceptions, expansion of nonconforming uses, use
variances, home occupations, parking of commercial vehicles, temporary uses,
or challenges to the Zoning Officer’s decision.
3. All appeals that involve analysis or calculations by the Township Engineer $500.00
regarding flood plain and impervious surface items.
4. Extension of time for decisions previously granted by the Zoning Hearing Board. $50.00
5. Continuance of a Zoning Hearing $100.00
C. Commercial/Nonresidential Appeals
1. All appeals that strictly involve physically measurable or quantifiable requirements $1,000.00
of the Zoning Ordinance such as separation distance, setbacks, height, volume,
size, area, parking requirements, signage, or provisions of site improvements
that are required by the Zoning Ordinance

All appeals that involve the use or activity on a property such as primary use $2,000.00
(activity), accessory use, Special Exceptions, use variances, validity challenges,
temporary uses, expansion of nonconforming uses, or challenges to the Zoning
Officer’s decision.
3. All appeals that involve analysis or calculations by the Township Engineer $1,000.00
regarding flood plain and impervious surface items.

24. Before the Lower Macungie Board of Commissioners
Cost
A. Proposed Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance, by petition of landowner, pursuant $5,000.00
to Zoning Ordinance. $7,000 escrow
Lower Macungie Township may prescribe reasonable fees with respect to hearings before the Zoning
Hearing Board.
Any person, partnership, corporation, or party shall pay the required deposit at the time of application to appear before the
Board of Commissioners. The applicant may be required to replenish the escrow deposit to cover expenses in excess of the
original escrow deposit amount. Escrow funds are used for the following fees, if applicable: advertising, certified mailings,
engineering, legal, consulting, stenographer, recording fees, meeting room rental (if not Township Building), file fee to County
Department of Law. Fees are charged at cost, except the stenographer appearance is 1/2 actual cost.
