50th Annual KHSAA State Wrestling Championships
In tournaments, individual placement points shall be awarded as soon as earned.
Placement points already earned shall be deducted in case of forfeit (other than
injury) or disquali cation from the tour na ment. Points for team scoring shall
be awarded as follows:
Two team advancement points shall be scored for each match
won in the championship bracket, except for the nal rst-place
match. If a wrestler receives a bye in the rst round, he shall be
awarded two ad vance ment points for that round if he wins his
next match. No points are awarded for the bye if the wrestler
loses his next match;
• One team advancement point shall be scored for each match
won in the consolation elim i na tion, except for the nal third,
fth and seventh-place matches. A wrestler who has a bye in the
consolation round shall receive one ad vance ment point, pro vid ed
he wins his next round match;
Two additional points shall be scored for each match won by
default, disquali cation, fall or forfeit through out the tour na ment;
• One and one-half additional points shall be scored for each match
won by a technical fall;
• One additional point shall be awarded for each match won by
a major decision;
• In tournaments scoring eight places, the winner of each cham-
pi on ship quarter nal shall be award ed three place points, the
win ner of each championship semi nal shall be award ed nine
ad di tion al place points and the winner of each championship
nal shall be awarded four additional place points. The winner
of the quarter nal con so la tion match shall receive three place
points. The winner of the consolation semi nals shall receive
four ad di tion al place points. The winner of third place and the
winner of fth place shall receive two ad di tion al place points. The
win ner of seventh-place shall receive an additional place point.
• 1 - 16 pts.; 2 - 12 pts.; 3 - 9 pts.; 4 - 7 pts.; 5 - 5 pts.; 6 - 3 pts.;
7 - 2 pts.; 8 - 1 pt.
