Business Plan for Zhaocai Shabu Restaurant (92 pp.)
Kannapon Loepetcharat, Ph.D.
ABSTRACT
Currently, the eating habits of Thai people tend to favor dining out for the
sake of convenience. This has fueled the rapid growth of the restaurant industry.
Buffet-style dining, especially hot pot and Shabu-shabu, is highly popular among
Thais. Shabu-shabu, in line with health-conscious choices, has become trendy.
However, the Ministry of Public Health warns about high sodium in the soup broth,
advising caution for Shabu-shabu diners.
As the popularity of these dining trends has risen, businesses in the Shabu-
shabu industry have strived to meet consumer demands by offering a variety of
ingredients and improving the quality of ingredients. They have also developed soup
recipes that allow for reduced salt or sodium levels to cater to health-conscious
customers. Additionally, these restaurants have chosen unique themes, setting
themselves apart from other Shabu-shabu establishments.
This Zhaocai shabu business is the result of a comprehensive analysis,
considering the overall restaurant industry, the restaurant's vision, marketing plans,
financial planning, and contingency planning. From this analysis, the Zhaocai Shabu
business requires an initial investment of 3,525,490 Baht, mainly allocated to
equipment and location expenses. The payback period is estimated to be 2 years
and 3 months, surpassing the target. The Internal Rate of Return (IRR) for the project
is 18.58%, making it an attractive investment opportunity in terms of financial return,
unique soup offerings, and themed restaurant experience.
